2012 NYC FAITH ADVENTURE
Dates: June 21-29, 2012 Cost: $400 (make checks payable to Sunne Gathering Fund). Actual cost is approximately $850/person. We will raise the balance. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. There are no full scholarships available. Cost includes all meals except during travel. Who can go: Anyone in grades 8-12 can go...regardless of church affiliation. Space is limited to 35 youth. Registration opens on September 25, 2011, and closes on October 30. Coordinator: This Faith Adventure is a ministry of Sunne Lutheran Church. Transportation: We will be traveling by charter bus. Lodging: We will be staying at the Seafarer's and International House in NYC (www.sihnyc.org). Activities: We will be working with homeless shelters, food ministries, and various ministries. Expectations: 1. Participants will take part in all fundraising activities. If a participant chooses not to participate in an activity, that person will need to pay an additional amount based on the funds raised in that activity. 2. Participants will worship in their home churches on a regular basis - at least 18 times between September 1 and June 21, 2012. 3. Participants will take part in a community service project on Join Hands Day (May 5, 2012) or an equivalent activity. 4. Participants will take part in a presentation to the supporters when we return. Needed to register: 1. Parental Release Form - filled out and signed. 2. Non-Refundable Deposit (or portion thereof if making installments). |
